‘Are your clients Nervous Noras when it comes to investing?’

– Pragmatic Penelopes are probably the most common new clients when it comes to understanding behavioural investing, according to advisers.  Paul Denley, chief executive of London-based Oakham Wealth Management, said many people know they need to invest their cash savings, but have natural apprehension about getting into the markets.  He was referring to research earlier this week from Fidelity International, which looked at three particular behavioural investing ‘types’: Calm Carrie, Nervous Nora and Yo-Yo Yasmine. The provider’s analysis of those who have a calm head when it comes to investing, are too scared to start, or jump in and out every time the markets move, aimed to show just how much someone could gain or lose as a result of these behaviours.
