‘Pokémon cards set to soar in value as new release to launch this week’
– Paul Denley, finance expert and chief executive of Oakham Wealth Management, said new releases or launches can bring old collectors back while attracting a new generation of fans who want vintage items. “For collectibles, value sits at the intersection of scarcity, condition, and demand, with demand driven by cultural relevance,” he said. “A major Pokémon release puts the genre back in the spotlight, bringing back collectors and attracting new ones, some of who will inevitably turn to older cards. “You then have more people chasing a limited supply of rare vintage cards, which pushes up prices.”
